Chisinau, Moldova - In early October, associate Ana Galus has been accredited as a mediator by the Center for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) - a British professional services consultancy, widely recognized and endorsed as a commercial mediation provider. As a result, Ana has been admitted to the associated CEDR mediation pilot programme.
This EBRD-funded project seeks to advance alternative dispute resolution methods in the country and thus support Moldova\'s justice reform. As part of the programme, 18 CEDR accredited professionals will work with two designated courts (i.e. the Botanica District Court and the Balti First Instance Court) to establish pilot mediation schemes and handle cases referred to them by judges. The professionals are also set to participate in seminars with representatives of the business community in the cities of Balti and Chisinau and spread the word about the project and the benefits of alternative dispute resolution.
