MOLDCELL: Number 9490 – opened for support towards patients with cancer assisted by Hospice Angelus

Moldcell company announces the launching of a funds collection campaign towards incurable patients with cancer in advanced and terminal stages of the disease. The campaign aims to support the activity of the Charity Foundation for Public Health (CFPH), „Angelus Moldova”, that offers medical, psychological, social and spiritual assistance to 500 patients with terminal cancer and other diseases each year.

Starting with April 27, Moldcell opens special number 9490 where all subscribers can send messages which will contribute 12 lei towards the work of Hospice Angelus. All proceeds gathered over a three week period will be allocated to supporting the palliative care services offered by Hospice Angelus.

The campaign is launched on the eve of the second Hospice Angelus Charity ball, organized by foundation representatives and Her Majesty Princess Marina Sturdza, which will take place on May 6 at Leogrand Convention center. The ball is the most important fundraising event in the “Angelus Moldova” calendar, as it gives us the opportunity to raise awareness of the situation of patients with cancer and to collect funds for supporting the activity of the foundation in the Republic of Moldova. Moldcell Ambassadors and partners –Trigon group – joined the campaign and will perform free of charge at “Hospice Angelus” charity Ball.

NOTE: According to the statistics, only in 2009, 8043 people were diagnosed with malignant cancerous tumors in Moldova. Of that number, 5658 died, a figure representing 70% of the total. In the same year, “Hospice Angelus” assisted approximately 300 patients in need of palliative care.
