Within the frameworks of the “BeeTech” festival, Moldcell hosted the students of the Technical University of Moldova The first edition of the Technical Festival BeeTech, organized by the Local Group BEST Chisinau and supported by Moldcell Company, took place on December 1-5, 2009. From the start, the major objective of the BEST Chisinau local student group, that operates within the frameworks of the Technical University of Moldova (UTM) under the auspices of the European Organization BEST (Board of European Students in Technology), was to create a platform for the advancement of students of the Technical University of Moldova. The BeeTech festival had several compartments („Case study”, „Technical exposition”, „Trainings”, „Tehno Design”, „PC Party”) devised to stimulate students’ creativity, to give additional knowledge and skills, and to promote teamwork. Moldcell Company supports initiatives of the young people to contribute to the enhancement of the educational process through alternative and interactive strategies, that is why the Company became the sponsor of the „BeeTech” festival and offered prizes as well as a training at the commutation centre of the operator. In a friendly atmosphere the well-known experts from Moldcell Company made a brief description of the activities of the company and its shareholders – the Swedish – Finnish telecommunication group TeliaSonera, they also referred to the spectacular revolution of the mobile telephony sector and the predominant role of the technologies in the advancement and diversification of communication. The experts also explained the advantages of using services of a leading operator that implements the most efficient and revolutionary technological solutions and demonstrated to the participants a part of the equipment used to ensure the faultless functioning of Moldcell network. At the end of the event Doina Arnaut, a third year student of the Faculty of Urbanism and Architecture from the Technical University of Moldova, admitted: „I was positively surprised by the receptivity of Moldcell Company to the initiatives of the youth and I was pleased to see so much goodwill on behalf of the Company. I highly appreciated the possibility to have a dialogue with the representatives of the company and we were offered very detailed answers to the questions we had during the meetings.” „The visit to the technical centre of Moldcell made a deep impression on me, I found out many details about the history of the operator, the future plans, and the skills an engineer should possess in order to work for the company. The trainings motivated me to continue to study diligently in order to face future challenges”, Gleb Tocarenco added, a second year student of the Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics. Besides long-term projects, such as „Moldcell Scholarshhip” (partnership with the universities of Moldova) or „Your Future Starts Today” (in collaboration with the Academy of Economic Studies), the event, organized by Moldcell within the frameworks of the Technical Festival „BeeTech”, is one of the ways through which the company supports the young generation, offering exchange of skills and experience.
