6.5 trillion $ or 5% of global GDP is the cost of global corruption, according to the data provided by the World Economic Forum 2018. Obviously, Western countries as well as international organizations in the field have become aware of its malignant impact on fostering the adoption of international instruments such as the Anti-Bribery OECD Convention, the Partnership Against Corruption - the World Economic Forum, the United Nations Convention Against Corruption, the latter being ratified by the Republic of Moldova in 2007.
