Meeting on Audit Matters with the Ministry of Finance

At the invitation of the Ministry of Finance, AmCham Moldova, in collaboration with ACAP, participated in a working meeting chaired by Mrs. Victoria Belous, Minister of Finance, to discuss topics raised by the professional and business community of auditors.

The discussions focused on reviewing proposed amendments to the Law on the Audit of Financial Statements (based on the submission https://amcham.md/?go=news&n=4205), measures to improve audit quality and increase trust in the profession, as well as enhancing the efficiency of the Audit Oversight Council (based on the submission https://amcham.md/?go=news&n=4261). The parties agreed to organize a joint meeting dedicated to this topic. The need for the certification of accountants was also discussed and examined.

AmCham Moldova was represented by Iuri Cicibaba, Co-Chair of the Tax Committee and Managing Partner at Forvis Mazars, and Veronica Sirețeanu, Deputy Director and Tax Committee Coordinator.
