On February 28th, AmCham representatives met Mr. Mark Meyer, National Chairman of Moldovan-American Chamber of Commerce and Honorary Consul of Moldova in New Yorkwho was accompanying group of twelve academically superior students involved in a course “Transactions in emerging markets” at St. John’s University School of Law that is on visit in Moldova.
In his capacity as Honorary Consul, Mr. Meyer strives to increase Moldova’s visibility and to promote cultural, economic, and educational links between the Republic of Moldova and the State of New York.
Local businesses had a chance to discuss with MR. Meyer topics ranging from the current economic landscape in Moldova to the opportunities in attracting US investors to Moldova and related challenges for both AmCham and MACC.
On the other hand, AmCham representatives delivered a short presentation on the investment climate in the country outlining the peculiarities of doing business in the Republic of Moldova. Also, the guests had the opportunity to talk directly to senior representatives, asking questions on their operations, successes and potential challenges for further growth.
