On November 11, 2021, the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova adopted the Law regarding the mechanism for examining the investments of importance for state security.
The Law establishes the conditions for investors to conduct investment activities in areas of importance for state security and the mechanisms for state supervision of these investments to increase their transparency.
AmCham has been actively involved in the public consultations on the Law and has advocated for the promotion of balanced regulations that will not affect the rights of bona fide investors.
AmCham is pleased that many of its conceptual proposals have been considered and expects that the new regulations may ensure a fair balance between public interests and bona fide investors.
