Moldova Agroinbank: Central Bank Confirms Plenary Powers of New MAIB Board Members

The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) has confirmed the plenary powers of the 4 new members of the Moldova Agroindbank (MAIB) Management Board, approved by the Board recently.

Thus, MAIB Chairman Sergiu Cebotari has come to have three Vice-chairmans – Leonid Bejenari, Oleg Paingu and Victor Iuras. The 4th Board member approved was Eugeniu Josan, who heads the MAIB Department of Human Resources and Organization. All of the four new Board members have worked in the MAIB over 19 years.

Bejenari will be in charge of MAIB risks, Paingu – responsible for retail issues, and Iuras will tackle corporate questions.

Moldova Agroindbank is the country’s largest financial institution accounting for 22% banking sector and having the sector’s highest income indicator. In 2012, MAIB earned 303 million lei of income, having repaid to its shareholders dividends in the amount of 150 lei against each share having the nominal value of 200 lei. In 2013, the bank is projecting to earn an income of 318 million lei.

Bank Chairman Sergei Cebotari was elected to this position by the General Meeting of shareholders on June 28, 2013.
