  • 03.04.2025

Philip Morris Moldova has been awarded the Top Employer certification for the fourth time, a recognition of the company's commitment to employee professional development, creating an inclusive work environment and promoting best practices in human resources.

The certification is awarded by the Top Employers Institute, the number one global authority in the evaluation of human resources strategies. At the same time, Philip Morris International (PMI) has become one of the 17 international organizations to obtain the Top Employer certification in 2025 globally.

"The Top Employer certification reflects our commitment to building a work environment where people not only carry out their activity, but can constantly develop, having the opportunity to capitalize on their full potential. At Philip Morris Moldova, we place great emphasis on trust, respect and mutual support, and each employee is encouraged to innovate and to contribute with new ideas. By promoting essential values that are found in PMI's DNA such as empathy, collaboration and result-orientation, regardless of the challenges, we manage to build not only a strong team, but also a work environment that inspires and motivates", said Elena Naumenko, director of Philip Morris Moldova.

Elena Naumenko mentions that, in addition to the ambition to be a top employer, Philip Morris Moldova aims to contribute to the country's economic development, both through the investments made, as well as through the jobs created and the taxes paid to the state budget.

"For Philip Morris Moldova, the activity carried out on the local market is not only about growing and strengthening its own business interests, but also about actively contributing to the economic and social development of the country. The company is among the most important contributors to the state budget, providing significant financial resources for the national economy. At the same time, we promote essential principles for a durable future such as sustainability, the use of advanced technologies and continuous innovation," said the director of Philip Morris Moldova.

PMI is one of the largest companies in the tobacco industry globally, with approximately 82,700 employees worldwide. The company is committed to building a smoke-free future by focusing on developing its portfolio of smoke-free alternatives. Since 2008, PMI has invested more than $14 billion to develop, scientifically substantiate and commercialize innovative smoke-free products for adults who would otherwise continue to smoke, with the goal of completely stopping the sale of cigarettes.

Evaluation methodology

PMI has been evaluated by the Top Employers Institute, based on the HR Best Practices Survey. This study looks at key aspects such as people strategy, the work environment, development opportunities, diversity and inclusion, and employee well-being. Thus, this certification reflects PMI's commitment to a balanced and motivating work environment.
