Danube Logistics: Danube Logistics signs Container Logistics Service Agreement with MAERSK’s Moldovan representative ELAT Container SRL

On June 22 Danube Logistics signed a Container Logistics Service Agreement with ELAT Container, the official representative of MAERSK container shipping line in the Republic of Moldova. The agreement provides for the transportation of sea containers from Constanta South Container Terminal in Romania to Giurgiulesti International Free Port in the Republic of Moldova.

Thomas Moser, the Chairman of Danube Logistics SRL, stated: “We welcome MAERSK’s Moldovan official representative ELAT Container to our weekly container feeder service and to Giurgiulesti International Free Port. As the largest container shipping line in the world, MAERSK and ELAT Container will now be able to offer Moldovan importers and exporters an excellent service in Moldova and throughout the rest of the world.”

ICS Danube Logistics SRL is the general investor and operator of Giurgiulesti International Free Port (GIFP) as well as the operator of the newly established weekly transportation service for containers between Giurgiulesti and Constanta.

Giurgiulesti International Free Ports (GIFP) entire 120 ha territory has a status of a free economic zone and consists of an oil product terminal, a grain terminal as well as a general cargo and container terminal including a RoRo ramp (start of operation by September 2011).
