Prime Minister's Economic Council Activity Update

On August 14, AmCham Moldova participated at the meeting organized by the Prime Minister Economic Council on implementation of Regulation on the border-crossing mode of goods that are subject to control by the National Agency for Food Safety (Government Decision 938/2018); representative of the business community joined the meeting to share issues faced during this process.

The stakeholders have highlighted as the main struggles during the inspections:
- lack of a risk assessment mechanism,
- procedure of sample collection (lack of a sampling act, lack of the document with results of the control, lack of a transparent mechanism of sampling),
- difficult registration procedures in TRACES system.

The representative of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure proposed to host another technical meeting on the subject to improve the Regulation.
