March Trade & Manufacturing Committee Updates

  • 01.04.2016

These weeks, the focus of the Trade & Manufacturing Committee was the Customs Policy for 2016. Besides the analysis of the bill, AmCham Moldova came up with a series of proposals aimed at improving the customs clearance procedures as the regulation of the customs terminals, the implementation of the deferred customs duties payment mechanism, the enhancements of the international flow of post consignments and parcels, the optimization of the clearance processes at the Giurgiulesti Port, etc.

Within March, AmCham started an intense correspondence with the Customs Service on the clarification of a series of aspects on the certification of origin as well as regarding the ”drawback” administration.

AmCham representatives also had a series of meetings with the EUBAM representatives and EU High Level Advisor within Customs Service to discuss critical customs issues. Some Committee members also attended the roundtable on simplification of the import/export procedures of the agro-goods.
