Government Updates the List of Socially Important Products

Today, the Official Gazette of the Republic of Moldova published a Government Decision revising the list of socially important products. As a result of this revision, medical masks, gloves, and biocidal products (medical disinfectants) have been excluded from the list, reflecting the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency of international concern.

This change follows a formal request submitted by AmCham Moldova in 2024, based on the provisions of Point 2 of Government Decision No. 130/2020, which mandated the Ministry of Health to revise the list after the global health emergency ended. The decision is aligned with the Statement of the Fifteenth Meeting of the IHR (2005) Emergency Committee on the COVID-19 pandemic, confirming the conclusion of the emergency phase.

We welcome this important step towards returning to normal market conditions and thank the Government for their responsiveness to AmCham’s recommendations.
