Experts from around the world are coming together to fine-tune the AmCham METRIX (Moldovan Economic Transformation and Reform IndeX) - a tool designed to assess how government policies impact the business environment.

This international team of macroeconomists, financial analysts, and public policy specialists - from places like Oxford University, NYU Shanghai, the World Bank, IFC Europe, IBRD, and the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova - is looking into macroeconomic modeling to see how fiscal, trade and labor policy changes affect Moldova’s business climate, and comparing the country’s competitiveness with its Eastern European peers.

METRIX also includes a Business Perception Assessment - a nationwide survey on how businesses view current policies and how they’re being implemented - and Future Policy Forecasting, which analyzes upcoming trends and Moldova’s EU accession commitments through in-depth interviews with AmCham members.
