On October 8, 2013, the U.S. Federal Reserve issued a newly-designed $100 bill.
The new design $100 note includes two new security features, the 3-D Security Ribbon and the Bell in the Inkwell. In addition to the two new security features, three highly effective security features from previous designs have been enhanced and retained in the new design $100 note: the portrait watermark, the security thread, and the color-shifting 100. The U.S. government has created a variety of training materials to help you educate and train your staff and/or customers. We offer these materials in multiple languages, and they are available for download. For your convenience, please review the information brochures in English, Russian, and Romanian and the Federal Reserve press releases in Russian and Romanian.
Please note that it is U.S. government policy that all designs of U.S currency remain legal tender, regardless of when they were issued. This policy includes all denominations of Federal Reserve notes, from 1914 to the present.
