  • 17.01.2013

To continue its support for farmers from high value agricultural sectors in Moldova, the Agricultural Competitiveness and Enterprise Development Project (ACED), funded by the United States Government, published a new guide for table grape producers. The guide, ”Table Grape Production, Red and Black Varieties”, is authored by two Moldovan scholars, Dr. Gheorghe Nicolaescu of the State Agricultural University and Dr. Fiodor Cazac of the Institute of Horticulture and Food Technologies.

This is the first comprehensive guide which describes the technological operations for the production of table grapes of the red and black varieties in Moldova. The guide also includes the recommendations presented by ACED in its Table Grape Value Chain Study and the fresh fruit market studies conducted in Russia, Romania, the Baltic States, Germany, and Moldova. The guide offers information on the production and harvesting operations for 13 registered varieties and 13 varieties that were admitted temporarily in 2012 for the purpose of testing under local production conditions.

Individual copies of the guide are available at no cost to any interested parties at the ACED Office: 3rd floor, Kentford Building, 202 Ștefan cel Mare Blvd., Chișinău, Moldova. It can also be ordered via phone (+373)-22-595-265 or via email at info@aced.md.
