Bemol: Bemol introduces self-service

On October 18th, BEMOL has launched a new type of service, giving its customers a wider choice at one of its petrol stations (PS). The PS on Grenoble street, in Chisinau, was the first one ever in Moldova to offer Self Service option to its customers at two out of six pumps. Self-Service at PS is a common practice all over Europe and the US, and now BEMOL is first to launch it in Moldova as well.

BEMOL’s intention is to further roll out this additional type of service in other selected locations that will be announced in due course.
The project was initiated with the objective to give customers the possibility to choose Self Service (SS) and control the entire process of fuelling up their vehicles, or to be attended by one of the station’s operators. If the customer chooses the SS option, he/she automatically benefits from a discount only available at the Self Service pumps.

For the test period, at the BEMOL petrol station on Grenoble street, all clients that will opt for Self Service will still be guided by station operators. Plus, the SS pumps have all the necessary filling procedure information that will aid the customer to perform the new service.

After parking the vehicle next to the SS pump, the customer has to enter the BEMOL MARKET and ask the cashier for the Self Service card. Only the cashier has such cards and those are the only ones that work at the SS pumps. The cashier will ask for the amount the client would like to fuel up and after the payment is done, the client can return to the vehicle with the receipt and the SS card. On the pump are all the rules and steps necessary to perform the Self Service procedure. If the client is unsure for the first time, he will be guided by a BEMOL operator. When the filling procedure is over, the card should be either returned to the cashier or placed in the SS boxes available next to the pumps.

This new service, within its few days after being launched, has become very popular and clients are curious to test it out and benefit from the associated discount. Shortly, this option will be implemented at selected stations throughout the entire BEMOL network across the country. All stations that correspond to the necessary technical requirements for Self Service will begin to provide the service within the next few months.

The first station to offer Self Service is the BEMOL petrol station on 134/3 Grenoble street in Chisinau.
